My commute is 36 miles round trip, and includes gravel path, paved path, glass covered urban street hell, and lots of potholes. I use the same racing bike with Ultegra drivetrain and brakes for commuting and weekend rides. The 700X28C version, much to my surprise, does fit with 2008 Ultegra brakes. I can easily maintain 20-22 mph on the flats with these tires, and in 4 months of continuous commuting I have yet to experience a flat. These are winners
