Placing extremely thin brushes against the rim, Crud's fully floating design allows the fender to hover in place directly above the tire, instantly absorbing vibration and keeping it in a center neutral position. Crud Catcher notes they have failed to significantly wear the brushes throughout extensive product testing because the friction involved is so minimal that it's almost unmeasurable. However, replacement strips are available on their website for the cost of a couple of stamps.
