With over 500 different models, colors and sizes to choose from, it can be a little daunting to find the product you're looking for. Our Tire Finder makes it easy. If you're not already on our Tires Page, you can get there by clicking on Tires above. On the Tires Page, you can view this article at any time by clicking on the Our Tire Finder allows you to search for tires using many different parameters. The first step in selecting a tire is to determine the rim size. This must be the correct value to fit on your wheel. Unfortunately, there are many different ways of specifying rim sizes and all manufacturers are not consistent. The most accurate method is using the International Standards Organization(ISO) sizes which indicates the diameter of the tire in millimeters measured from tire bead to tire bead (where the tire touches the rim). We list all our rim sizes using this ISO metric measurement, but we also include the common-name sizes in case you don't know the ISO sizes. The most popular sizes used on modern bicycles are:
Other common sizes are:
We also stock many other sizes for children's bikes, folding bikes, recumbents, and older cruisers and road bikes. If you need help figuring out your tire size, Click Here.
To select the tire rim size, click on the small down-arrow to the right of the Tire Rim Size selection box on the left. This will expand (or collapse) the selection box to allow you to select the tire size (or sizes) you are interested in. This Expand/Collapse button works the same for other selection criteria as well. Once you change a selection criteria, the list of available tires will be automatically updated. To see more detail about a tire or to order the tire, simply click on the tire listing.
The tire width is less critical than the rim size. Most bicycle wheels can handle a fairly wide range of tire widths. If your bike came with 32mm wide tires, it easily accommodate 28mm wide or 34mm wide tires. You can probably go significantly wider if you have enough clearance between your tires and other parts of your bicycle. To adjust the width range, click and drag the red sliders. When you release them, the list of available tires will be updated. You can expand the other selection criteria to narrow your choices as well. Tires can be selected by application, color, price, weight, and recommended maximum inflation pressure, as well as the criteria we've already discussed. | |
