Cruiser bikes is the name we use for older style bicycles, primarily from the 60's and 70's. These bikes were built by classic bicycle companies like Schwinn, Huffy, and Raleigh. There are many companies building replicas of these older style bicycles today.
Unfortunately, there was very little standardization of tire sizes in the heyday of cruiser bikes, so there are a number of different, incompatible tire sizes that have very similar size designations, particularly for 24inch and 26inch sizes. The best may to insure you get the right size is to determine the ISO (metric) size for the tire. For example, a 26 x 1 3/8 tire might have an ISO size of 37-597 (the Schwinn S-6 size) or 37-590 (the EA3 Size). In these cases, the 590 and 597 numbers indicate the diameter (in mm) of the tire at the point at which the tire connects to the rim. Please feel free to contact us if you need help figuring out what size to use.
