Pumps and Inflators

Keeping your tires inflated to recommended pressure is critical for safety, performance and comfort. All bicycle tires will gradually lose pressure, so you'll need a pump to inflate your tires regularly. If you have a flat while riding, you'll need some way of re-inflating your repaired tire so you can be on your way. At BicycleTires.com, we carry an assortment of easy to use floor pumps, lightweight hand/frame pumps, and CO2 inflators. If you're not already on our Pumps and Inflators Page, you can get there by clicking on Pumps and Inflators above.

On the Pumps and Inflators Page, click on the button on the left side of the page to view this article at any time.

On the left side of the Pumps and Inflators Page, you'll see a Category section, a Manufacturers section, and a Price Range section. These allow you to narrow the results of your pumps and inflators search. When you first come to the Pumps and Inflators Page, all categories and manufacturers are selected. By clicking on individual categories and/or manufacturers, you can narrow the search results for products in those categories and/or made by those manufacturers.

To narrow the price range of the items, you can use our Price Range slider controls. Click and drag the red bars to adjust the lower and upper price range of the products you're looking for.

Floor pumps are large enough that they can fill a bicycle tire to full inflation quickly and easily. Some of the higher-end models are capable of filling high-pressure tubular tires to 160psi or higher. These pumps allow you to use your body weight as leverage making it considerably easier to pump tires to full pressure.

Hand pumps, also often refered to as frame pumps, are designed to be carried with you on the bicycle. They are relatively small and light so they're easy to mount to your bicycle frame (many are small enough to carry in a back pocket or pack), but their small size also makes them less efficient at filling a high-pressure tire, or a larger tire.

Many cyclists prefer to carry a CO2 inflator as an emergeny inflation device. A single 16 gram CO2 cartridge can fill your tire back up in seconds with no effort.

In addition to pumps and inflators, we also have many repair and replacement pumps to keep your existing bicycle pumps in good working condition.

For many of these categories, we've created articles to provide additional information. If you need help making a product choice, check out our Articles Page or Contact Us and we'll be happy to help.
