Bicycle Tools

Even if you don't do your own bicycle maintenance, there are some tools you shouldn't be without. At BicycleTires, we carry an assortment of tools for home maintenance and for emergency repairs on the road or trail. If you're not already on our Tools Page, you can get there by clicking on Tools above.

On the Tools Page, you can view this article at any time by clicking on the button on the left side of the page.

On the left side of the Tools Page, you'll see a Category section, a Manufacturers section, and a Price Range section. These allow you to narrow the results of your tools search. When you first come to the Tools Page, all categories and manufacturers are selected. By clicking on individual categories and/or manufacturers, you can narrow the search results for products in those categories and/or made by those manufacturers.

To narrow the price range of the items, you can use our Price Range slider controls. Click and drag the red bars to adjust the lower and upper price range of the products you're looking for.

Some of the tools that are "must haves" for any cyclist, in order of priority, are:

  • Tire Levers - extremely helful for removing a clincher tire from the rim when you have to change a flat
  • Multi-tool - a light-weight, low cost multi-tool carried in your bicycle bag can save a ride that might otherwise require a walk home
  • Spoke Wrench - perhaps a little less critical, these can help you keep your wheels in true and compensate for a broken spoke on the road so you can finish your ride

This section of our site is also where you'll find lubricants, a critical item for keeping your bike running smoothly and squeak free. A little lubricant on your chain every couple hundred miles can make a huge difference to how well your bike will run and how long the chain and gears will last.

For many of these categories, we've created articles to provide additional information. If you need help making a product choice, check out our Articles Page or Contact Us and we'll be happy to help.
